Belated festive Scottish stroll

So, I'm finally starting to really use this blog now and i'm excited about it :)

I treated myself to the marvellous machine that is the Sony a6000 mirrorless system camera and I have never been so in love before. I adore my Canon 5D mark ii and always will, but I felt I needed a camera with a lot more portability and ease of use, typically for the every day so also, the weight was a big factor as my trusty 5D mark ii is a little on the heavy side. I have always been intrigued by the new mirrorless system.. anything camera orientated fascinates me so I automatically want to learn everything about it... ALL THE THINGS PLEASE ALL THE THINGS!

These are some of the first images I took with my new a6000 ( still to name it, although, my mood changes so things ((and people)) end up with multiple names :P). A mystical and eerily stunning walk around where I live here in the Scottish Borders. I was following the moon.. and then the mist came.....  The shade of the sky kept changing... Prepare to feel enlightened by the sights you may see before you.

Also.... This was before we got our gorgeous little Labradoodle puppy, Louis (Photo's to come later as I am trying to edit and sort through all the images from the end of 2017, there are quite a few :D)

Bea- Welcome ickle baby cousin!

A new edition has floated in out of nowhere and she is absolutely beautiful ! My cousins little baby girl! Seems like only yesterday Lawrence was born and I was snapping away at his fresh to this world innocent cuteness :)

Meet Beatrice and family.. A happy family of 4... plus a few excitable family members!!  You can't see my energy but I was grinning behind the camera! :)

My best friend just gave birth to her first child!

This little family you see before you.... consists of my best friend Sally, her fiance Keith and their first born ELLIS!

Arn't they adorable? These photos portray such proudness and love for their little bundle of joy. I absolutely loved having them in front of my camera.

JUST A NOTE: there's lots of images :D

It's daddy's turn :)

Those precious moments resonate and make us who we are...

A parents job in to protect and guide.

A father's touch.

Family time :) :)

The bond between mother and baby is like no other feeling you can ever imagine. I understand that now, I see it in these images of Sally cradling precious little Ellis. Love is real. So very real.

The next set of images captures the moment (or 10) when I caught Ellis just staring into his mother's eyes, almost in admiration. It gave me goosebumps.

Goodnight little man.

Dream a little dream.

The resining process is quite enjoyable.

This is my favourite part of the production process here at Hemp Eyewear.

....The resining of the frames.

I especially love the light in this little cornered off side of the workshop. The plastic covering the wooden wall structures acts as an alternative soft box! It's just so soothing and... quite pretty in my opinion :)

I happen to be the newest team member to the Hemp Eyewear team!

My brother has founded the WORLDS FIRST  HEMP sunglasses made entirely out of natural, eco friendly materials. EVERY single pair are handmade by Sam, himself... and now... MEE ... I help him out with the nitty gritty bits so he's not slaving away for fashion (completely eco friendly might I add) ;P

The Hemp Eyewear team consists of Ellie (left) who is the head of Marketing and Sam (the founder) on the right.... who does all the making of.  Each pair has OVER 75 single processes to get them to the beautiful standard we provide to our loyal fans & customers>

Ellie (below) working in Photoshop at the workshop :)

Second segment of images shows Sam sanding down the arms... one step of many of the same process over the production routine.

Next.... Routing the groove for the hinges to live in nice and snuggly.

As I said above.... there are many many more processes each pair goes through before and after these steps .... a good few of them being sanding the hemp fibre arms down so they are silky smooth... as documented below:

Then.... it's time to place the hinges into the groove and glue them... before.....

I will be documenting each process regularly.

Watch this space :)

Highland Adventures.

Myself a few of my friends have this annual trip we try and do every year.

This year we took a trip up North to the Scottish Highlands to go and stay with some awesome friends.

There are some stunning beaches up North, I had never really been around that part of Scotland untill this trip.

Starting with images taken at Lossiemouth Beach :)

Findhorn Beach:

My last weekend in Paris. I'l miss you.

So here it is, My last weekend in Paris.

Myself and my friend started off in La Defense with a little bit of shopping. I absolutely love the symmetry in the buildings along the sky line... and all the different sizes and textures they create when captured. All of which look pretty perfect in black and white if I do say so myself :)

We started to head into the city of Paris, towards Jardin De Luxembourg.

On our way to the Louvre, unfortunately we didn't have time to go in... as you can tell, its nearly sundown. One thing I absolutely adore about Paris though, is it looks insanely beautiful in the daylight as much as without.

Place de la Republique: J'adore Paris. Paying my respects.

Well, I'm not sure how to start this post... The only thing that is clear in my mind is.. how incredibly discusted I am with what happened on Friday 13th November. I still remember the feeling I had in the pitt of my stomach when I heard.. Consequently, my internet had been off for 3 hours that night so I ended up watching a movie on my Macbook. A text came through from my friend cancelling our plans on Saturday, I asked why, and she mentioned something on the lines of 'Because of all that's happening'.... I asked 'what do you mean' and that's when I saw the words "there has been terroist attacks here in Paris". That second, I got a phonecall from my father in panic.

Through all of this happening, I was about to settle down with my kindle ready to sleep for the night.

To all ISIS has affected ALL over the world, my heart remains strong for them. We all need to be strong. Fighting back is not the answer. Violence has never calmed violence. It's inhumane.

I wasn't going to write a post with words but I thought, it's the least I can do. I felt/feel helpless and still do, as most of the world does... but this is my contribution.

I have never felt the need more for world peace (personally), PURE peace, untill now. This is the time.

World, you have many hearts behind you. It's name : the rest of us; Human Beings.

Exploring Paris : St Ouen Flea Market

This Saturday, myself a few other au pairs decided to go to St Ouen Flea Market - situated in the North of Paris. I had completely forgotten the fact that I had been here a few months ago but had also completely forgotten that 'St Ouen Flea Market' is actually a few different markets in itself. It's like a little city hidden away from the 21st century... and all close knit with its tiny little shops all squeezed together.

The first set of pictures are taken at '

Marché Vernaison'

Market Dauphine, on two floors! The architecture of the building is so impressive! Defiantly worth a few of your hours on a weekend :)

Exploring Paris: Just one of those Sunday's in Paris ft Champs Elysees CHRISTMAS MARKETS.

Sooooo..... One Sunday (usually my lazy days), we decided to head to Paris; firstly to go explore the streets... window shopping, gazing at Parisian Architecture... ya know, all the usual stuff...

Myself & a friend went into the Church of Saint Paul and Saint Louis... It was defiantly one of the most beautiful churches I have seen, out of many.

After all that jazz, we headed to the Christmas Markets over at Champs Elysees... and well. Who doesn't love the festive season and who doesn't love markets?! It is pretty much a win win situation... but hey, you don't need me to tell you this.

If you are human, and like Christmas.. and sparkly lights and warm wine and smiley people and and.... just go already :)
